After graduating from Oberlin, I worked in the old Oberlin Day Care Center for a few years. This led me to pursue a career in teaching.
I taught Kindergarten for 30 years in a small town just south of Madison. I retired in 2009 and since then have been volunteering at a nearby community center. It’s become my second home, and I’ve spent many hours helping kids with their homework, or just hanging out. I’ve used my music extensively in the classroom and in my volunteering.
Covid has put a stop to all of this, but I’m looking forward to getting back as soon as the vaccines kick in.
I’ve also been on the Community Advisory Board for AllofUs Wisconsin, working to play a small role in the advancement of precision medicine especially for underserved communities.
My wife, Sue, and I have been married for almost 30 years and we’ve travelled extensively to many places around this amazing planet of ours.
